David, Diana, Debra (Jason's parents and grandma), Sara, Jason, me, Andy, Don, and Bernie (my parents) all joined the expedition. (Many thanks to all the Wuertz's for leading us up to the "wilderness"... or as much "wilderness" as we can handle in December. (Caleb and Cassie are worn out and sleeping in the trucks)...

The Thrill of the Hunt
This year we did something we've wanted to do since living in Oregon but never had the energy, know-how, or truck to do. We drove up to Mount Hood (or somewhere up there) and cut down our own Christmas tree! In Oregon, you can buy a tree permit that allows you to just pick a tree out of the forest and give it a chop. It was awesome and we got a beautiful tree.

On the way we stopped at Little Crater Lake. I've not been to big Crater Lake yet, so this was the clearest water I've ever seen in a lake. I half expected to see a shipwreck at the bottom.

Andy was thrilled to use tools...

Dearest Jozi, Andy and Caleb, An Arboreal experience of the first hand sawing type, how cool! And I'll bet cool was the word for being on one's belly doing that sawing!! So great to get your Christmas Card.
ReplyDeleteReading through your blog Jozi, one of the "Great Truths" of Life smacked me in the face like a wet fish - please take this in the kind way it is meant. Never, in my 58 years, or even before that, have I met someone who seems so much as I have been. Non-stop, so full of energy, wanting to explore E V E R Y T H I N G in this universe and then ONWARD to another universe! Too many things to say in this short msg. Please send email address, the one I have for you is old. Love you all! Judy Greenlee and my wonderful husband Prince Ted (just like the fairy tales! princes have more fun than kings!!!! and princesses have to wear dresses too often, so I'm no princessa!
More Love and Huggles for Caleb!
Tragedy struck twice this year, we lost two extremely beloved cats, now our one survivor is ill, more info in an email.
