First, I picked up Hudson, who I've been watching once a week or so for Christina. More on that later. But I love that little guy, he's so cute and fun and I knew that filling my day with babyface could only make the day better. So Hudson and I spent the morning shopping and treating me (of course, since he's on a very strict diet) to usually-forbidden birthday treats. Strawberry-chocolate Jamba Juice, ohhhhhh yeah.
Then we headed over to Wendy's house to meet with Sharon about joining the worship team. Three women in a room with a baby. Oh, yeah, we did a lot of productive work in those couple hours.
After I returned Hudson to his mommy (who missed him terribly) I headed back home to wait for Andy to come home. He came home pretty quickly and we gathered ourselves around the kitchen island to open up a giant box that came from Mom and Dad. (And Caleb.) Suffice it to say... THANKS MOM AND DAD! (And Caleb.) Then Andy and I headed off to a yummy birthday dinner- and on the way I got to talk to my mother-in-law and Megan on the phone. Everybody loves you on your birthday! I felt so special. And stuffed. Dinner was at Noodles, where there is just too much good food for any human being. So yummy.
We didn't stop there... back in the car, Andy handed me the phone to talk to my father-in-law and distract me while he drove downtown to my favorite dessert place. I LOVE PAPA HAYDN. And I was full of chocolate. So full. So happy.
Back home, Andy just kept the joys coming... having already received my birthday present (my new office), I wasn't expecting to "get" anything. But Andy knows me better than that. I have a (perhaps) unhealthy obsession with unwrapping things... Oh, he is so sweet to tolerate me. But Andy hooked me up with all sorts of geek items that I didn't even know I needed and completely love. (And of course, a bit of jewelry.) So I went to bed happy as a clam... forgot that I was old and creaky and loved being the birthday girl.
Until next year...
